Facilitators: Tessa Womack & Jess Sieber Grasso
This four part workshop series is an offering to families interested in gathering new tools and perspectives on building a culture of belonging at home and in their community.
Content will touch on various stages of the development of the parent/caregiver and child partnership (centered around the participants who are present).
Through dialougue, council, and experiential activities, we will focus on:
Increasing empathy & respect in family dynamics
Promoting adaptability in ever-shifting circumstances
Gathering prompts, practices and confidence in order to deepen relationship to nature
Creating alliances and building social resilience
Strengthening skills to better navigate transitions
You are invited to attend all four successive workshops or drop-in as you are able.
Pre-registration is encourage, however drop-ins are welcome. Please email info@movesanctuary.com to reserve your space.
Workshops will take place on Wednesdays from 3:30-5pm on April 6, 13, 20 & 27.
Sliding Scale: $15 - $20/person
*Childcare and healthy snacks will be provided in Move’s backyard. PLEASE RSVP to info@movesanctuary.com in advance with your child’s age if you intend to utilize childcare. This will greatly help with our planning.

About Your Facilitators:
Tessa Womack weaves her understanding of human development, ecological systems, and the power of play to design and facilitate experiential learning opportunities for all ages. She is a nurturer of nature, a lover of language, and a reveler of relationships.
Tessa is in pursuit of an MA from Antioch University, and has earned a Certificate in Ecopsychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute and a BA in Psychology and Education from UCSB. She has over ten years of experience working with children, teens, and families through local organizations committed to self-awareness and nature connection.
Tessa is a mother, a guardian, a lifelong student, and the founder of Kindling Connection. Her playful approach and adaptable tools invite practices of inquiry, expression, and balance in an ever-shifting world.
Jess Sieber Grasso, is a facilitator, consultant, guide, educator, agent of social change and staunch lover of nature. Jess has worked with purpose-driven individuals and values-based organizations for the past two decades. She holds a master’s degree in Human Development with a concentration in Leadership and her self-designed B.A. is in Multicultural Education.
Jess is the co-founder of Women’s Reclamation, a transformative wilderness solo experience offered seasonally, and the founder of True North Collaborations, an organization dedicated to leadership development and community building. She is also a parent consultant and facilitator for Secure Beginnings of Ojai and the directing manager of Move Sanctuary. She has been a guest lecturer at UCSB and Ventura College as well as an instructor at Antioch University, Santa Barbara.
Jess views conflicts and challenges as opportunities and responsibilities. She believes experiences that stretch us beyond our comfort zone are essential for meaningful growth to take place.
